RECYLING YOUR CHRISTMAS CARDS
Saturday November 16th 1:30 - 3:30 PM Where: At the Barrhead Art Gallery & Studio Instructor: Jane Kusal Cost: $10.00 per person What to bring: Your old Christmas cards, there will be plenty there to share. Glue Sticks, ruler, scissors pencil, misc. Bling, optional. Card stock blanks optional. Jane will have some for sale if you don’t have any. Do you have used Christmas cards? Come join me, Jane Kusal, to learn how to make new cards from old ones. Come away with beautiful finished cards and ideas. |

Acrylic Class'sThe beginner's Acrylic Classes have been changed to BASIC ACRYLICS DROP IN CLASSES with Donna Mast starting on October 16, October 23, October 30 (three nights) from 6:30 pm - 8:30 pm.
The cost will be only $10.00 (no discount to members) with no preregistration. Come and learn from Donna. Bring your usual supplies, sketch book, canvas or board and reference material. etc. Beginner's Acrylic Class . (Refer to changes above) Wednesday Evening's – October 9, 16, 23, 30, 2019 starting 6:30 to 8:30pm @ Barrhead Art Gallery Cost: $ 55.00-- payable to: Barrhead Art Club, Box 4171, Barrhead AB T7N 1A2 Instructor: Donna Mast These classes we will introduce everyone to the basics: --of materials (supplies) --how to start a painting --different ways of approaching subject matter --how to apply paint --and many other processes of getting started --questions/discussion on different techniques design etc Supply List: --paper towels/rags --water container --sketch paper/pencils --old clothes or apron --reference materials (photos or sketches you are interested in) --2 medium size canvas – can be your choice, anywhere between 8x10 to 16x20 BECAUSE this is a beginner class, I do not wish that you should go and purchase a lot of supplies, we will be discussing supplies in class, so only if you already have them bring what you have or what you would like to work with. I will have some available to use.

Joyce Boyer Instructor - Adult class Saturday FEBRUARY 2nd!!! 9:30 am - 3:30 pm (Bring lunch) Please pre-register $65.00 per person We will explore with Joyce different collage techniques. Altering the surfaces using acrylics, mediums and stamping materials,we will explore a variety of ways to create a cache of paper for our mixed media pieces. This fresh pallet will almost be a creation on art in itself. We will be touching on the use of pastes, adding our own photos or fabrics and at what point in the collage they can be added. In the afternoon we will be painting on top of our collage and then the finishing touches. Students will use their own references or the demonstration material. Bringsomething you can do on a 9 X 12 canvas. Watercolours with Willie Wong Cancelled due to insufficient registrations October 19, 2019 10:00 - 4:00 p.m. $45.00 non members; $30.00 BAC members Update: Willie Wong will be here to do a watercolour class on October 19th. between 10:00 am and 4 pm. This will be at the Ripple Connection, 5130 - 50 Street, in the same front room where we had the Art Walk. The cost is $45.00 each (less $15.00 for members). Register in advance at the gallery, by mail or see Lorna at Dr. Hamilton's office. Willie will have brushes and paper for sale at a reasonable price. Bring your watercolours and your own brushes and paper if you have them. See photo of what we will paint. Great way to learn and a fun time with Willie. Spirit Stick Workshop
FRIDAY MAY 11, 2018
Supplies Needed:
- A stick that is between 5 to 5.5 feet high, approximately 2 - 2 ½” diameter; must be sanded smooth, cleaned and primed. (Instructor will supply these sticks).
- Acrylic Paints - can be any type; bright color high staining paints and opaque paints work best.
- ½” brush angled or straight, smaller brushes - round; liner brush for fine lines.
- Polyester medium (gloss or matte) is recommended.
- Optional: embellishments such as, fabric, wool, string, colored papers, Pre-painted and gelli print papers etc, ribbons etc
- Scissors and small ruler.
Pay for the instructor:
- For primed-only sticks $10.00 each
- For primed and pre-underpainted sticks $20.00 each
- No charge for the class; A $20.00 donation per participant to go to club fundraising.
Start at 10am cost $30
Start at 1pm cost $40
